Hillbilly Express Sportfishing
If you plan on fishing in Chincoteague, look no further than Hillbilly Express Sportfishing.
Depending on conditions, you might hook into Black Seabass, Flounder, Bonnethead Shark, Gray Triggerfish, Spadefish, Tilefish, Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Little Tunny (False Albacore), Albacore Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, and who knows what else! For these species, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
Capt. Austin operates a 32’ Century walkaround that can carry up to 5 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board when required to help your trip run smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain. Don’t leave home without a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. So make it happen, with Hillbilly Express sportfishing!
